Grinderhouse at The Projection Booth

The Film Reel is at it again with a night of pure blood and mayhem at The Projection Booth in Toronto. That’s right, The Film Reel is bringing Nightmare (review here) and Meet The Feebles (review here) to the big screen July 23rd starting at 8 pm.

The Projection Booth is working with The Film Reel to offer up some cult classic gems that you just don’t get to see on the big screen anymore. This monthly series, titled Grinderhouse and named after Grinder Coffee (a local coffee shop that had a hand in bringing The Projection Booth to life), is kicking off with a bang when Nightmare opens the series.

Coming off the Video Nasty list, Nightmare is a film that truly earned that spot. The screen is bathed in blood and some of the history of the film is almost as bloody. The second feature will be Meet The Feebles. This is a Peter Jackson classic. He may be known for dwarves and rings now but horror fans will remember his hilarious start in the genre with Bad Taste, Braindead, and Meet The Feebles. Best explained as The Muppets on crack, having this film showing on the big screen is going to be a blast.

Grinderhouse kicks off at 8 pm on July 23rd, 2011. Tickets for the event will be $5.99 for one movie or $10 for both. The Projection Booth is located at 1035 Gerrard St. East, Toronto, ON
