DVD and Blu-ray Releases for April 19th, 2011

Forget about everything else going on this week and head out tomorrow to pick up Tokyo Gore Police (review) on Blu-ray. Seriously, nothing else even matters. Alright, maybe excessive, over the top gore isn’t quite your thing. You can always settle in with Rabbit Hole or The King’s Speech as well. For someone looking to really cheese up their Blu-ray collection both Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation make their appearance on Blu-ray. Not a bad week so check it out.

  1. Oh, harsh! Mortal Kombat was so not total cheese! (I cannot defend Annihilation, though feature Cyrax, the awesome dreadlock robot, it does.) I can still remember the day I saw that movie in theaters and how awesome it was. How awesome… it IS!

A line here and there may have been over acted, but cheese? Nay, says I! I was a big fan of Raiden then, and seeing his part get such a cool role in the film was great!

[After fighting off a handful of warriors]

    “Brillant! Absolutely brillant.”

[They look at each other in pride.]

“So, what are you going to do… about *them*?”

    [Wall-o-warriors shouting Ah-ooo! similar to 300]

    Good times!
