I must be getting soft lately because I didn’t mind this movie at all. Of course the reason why I didn’t mind it is exactly the reason why so many others will hate it. It really didn’t seem anything like the anime. That suits me just fine because I couldn’t stand the anime.
Granted, this movie is still pretty terrible. A pathetic bad guy doesn’t help a film and James Marsters as Lord Piccolo is boring. He doesn’t even seem that evil and he’s the one trying to destroy the planet. The fight scenes completely abuse slow motion with every other punch or kick shown that way. While it looks cool at first, the seventh time they do it starts to get annoying. Imagine how annoying the 15th time was then!
I can see the anime feel to the movie with the over exaggerated characters and situations and I enjoyed that. I’m sure that this movie went over better with me since it was a boring Sunday afternoon and there’s never anything to do on Sundays anyway. I guess I could’ve enjoyed some nice weather but where’s the fun in that when you can sit in the dark and watch slow motion fight scenes.
Overall a pretty lame movie that won’t be hitting the top of anyone’s favorite list. Don’t ask why I enjoyed it, sometimes a lame movie does it for me!

Sometimes a bad movie is fun to indulge, because it might even be enjoyable to laugh at. My hubby wants to see this, I don’t, and now I really don’t. Hahaha.
Yeah, this was pretty bad. I know it’s pretty bad when I can’t really pinpoint why I enjoyed it. I just did. I must’ve been in a really good mood that day. Maybe the nice weather is affecting me!
I think if he’s a fan of the anime then he’s probably gonna be disappointed. Maybe not, I couldn’t really sit through the anime so a comparison is hard. Something tells me hundreds of episodes of anime don’t fit well into an 85 minute movie.
This pretty much sums up the movie for anyone who does not want (and shouldn’t) waste their money on.

And right now Chow Yun’s probably cringing from making such a retarded movie.
